Effective Tuesday July 7, 2009 the Santa Rosa Fire Department has started a rotational closure of 2 fire stations due to budget constraints; Fire Station 10, at 1345 Corporate Center Parkway and Fire Station 11 at 550 Lewis Rd. are alternately closed in 48 hour increments. This cycle has continued in order to achieve necessary budget savings.
The assigned crews work between the two fire stations; calls for service are covered by units from other city fire stations anytime one of the stations is closed. Personnel from the closed fire station are used to fill vacancies at other stations created by vacation, sick and injury leave.
The Santa Rosa Fire Department would like to remind residents of the importance of having at least one smoke detector on every level of the home, having an escape plan that you practice with your family and calling 9-1-1 to report a fire or medical emergency.
