City Employees help the Wellness and Advocacy Center’s Gardening Program Tim O’Leary, retired graphic artist and disability advocate, was quite surprised by the response he received from two City employees when he requested some mulch material from the Laguna Treatment Plant. Zach Kay, Bio Solids Coordinator, and Christina Hamilton, Skilled Maintenance Worker, delivered 90 yards of mulch to the center. Zach has coordinated delivering materials in past years, but never to this extent and much to the delight of all the participants in the gardening program at the Center. The Center is a non-profit Mental Health consumer-operated self-help center. It is a program of the Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Employer. Their Mission is to support individuals in Sonoma County living with Mental Health challenges to develop and sustain well being through self empowerment. http://www.wellnessandadvocacy.org/ Pictured Tim O’Leary, Melinda Strassen and Gary Beck working in compost at the Wellness & Advocacy Center
